really low oil pressure worried..
just bought a 2001 chevy blazer had for few days now and noticed the oil gauge was pretty low. about 20-25 when on the gas. when at a stop or just idle is like 5-10. runs good now oil light on seems to have lots of power still and not making any noise in motor. runs quite and smooth.. is this a problem. changed oil and oil filter still the same. oil pressure runs normal first 5 min of cold start up.

Best to remove the oil pressure sending unit and the check oil pressure with a gauge, (dash gauges are not known for their accuracy).
5w30 is the recommended weight oil. If you use thicker/heavier oil, you're asking for trouble. It will increase oil pressure, BUT, oil volume will decrease, which is far worse than low pressure. Forget the additives and use a full synthetic oil like Mobil1, Castrol, etc. Far better than trying to re-engineer the oil with a band-aid in a bottle.
If oil pressure is not within spec, diagnose the problem & repair it the right way. It might be something as simple as a faulty bypass valve.
