Default Rear Brake rotors

I have an 03 w/ 4 wheel disc brakes. I am replacing the rear brake rotors cannot seem to get the rotor off. I removed the pads and caliper, and also removed the caliper bracket. There doesn't seem to be anything else holding it on. Am I missing anything? I've been messing with it for over an hour and no luck. Just wanna be sure There isn't something I am not doing. I even looked in the haynes manual to make sure and It just said remove tire and caliper.

Default RE: Rear Brake rotors

nothing is holding it except the 'e' brake shoes on the inside of that rotor.(ridge of rust)[:-] I did one Thursday(one of many I have done)make sure you lube the center hub, possibly hammer between the studs(carefully), then insert two good sized flat bladed screwdrivers in the 3 and 9 o'clock position and work back and forth. You may also from time to time rotate the rotor to a different position and continue. You may have some nice blisters when done but it will eventually come off. Worse case scenerio is that the 'e' brake shoes come off with the rotor in which case you'll have to bend the clip at the top of the brake plate back in to accomodate the 'e' brake shoe tightly against the brake plate. good luck. jp[]
