Default Rear differential swap with LS differential ford explorer?

I was told I could swap my differential axle in my 98 Chevy blazer with a 95 and up ford explorer. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this and could offer me some insite. Thank you

That sounds a bit far fetched, but I may be wrong. A trip to a salvage yard and checking their Hollanders interchange guide will confirm or dis-prove this. Let us know what you find out.

What needs to be done to the drive shaft to customize it?

Just cut to proper length and a ujoint with blazer ends on one side, exploder the other. But im also running a 1994 NP-231 with a 1991 4dr drive shaft cut to fit.

Oh and weld on new spring perches.

I didn't do anything to the perches when I had mine. They only a tad off but there is enough play in the springs to get it bolted down. Connecting it to the driveshaft only requires the right u-joint. Mine was lifted so I didn't have to shorten the driveshaft any.

Here's a complete how to with pics of the 8.8 swap.

Why An Explorer rear end in a Blazer? I guess I'm missing something here.
