wheel bearing replacement questions

Default wheel bearing replacement questions

sorry wasn't sure where to post this. hey guys i searched the forum and found nothing about this that was good enouph. i have to replace the passenger side wheel bearing. how hard is it? how do i do it? and do i need to buy the hub assy or can just buy the wheel bearing itself? doing myself.2000 blazer 4wd 4dr blazer.

Must have missed the Tech Article section:
4wd Hub/Bearing Assembly Replacement

You cannot replace just the bearings in the unitized hub/bearing assembly. The rest is covered in the post above. The difficulty of the job depends on what you have available to you in terms of tools as well as experience. I have it down to under 30 minutes to swap a unitized front hub on pretty much any GM vehicle. Having an air impact, air chisel, and a good 3-jaw puller (in case the splined CV shaft doesn't want to release from the bearing assembly) make things go a lot faster.
