Relocating O2 sensor help
Hi all,
I'm looking into my options for dealing with a catalytic converter I was sent that has the O2 sensor hole in the wrong place.
A local shop said they could cut a hole and install a new set of threads for installing a new sensor where it should be. However I'm having trouble finding a screw-in plug for the mis-placed hole.
Does anyone have any ideas for how to plug the mis-located O2 sensor hole?
BTW, I am waiting on a reply to my complaint from the part supplier. My inquiry of you all is in support of my back-up plan.
Thanks,
Christine
P.S. Here are the new and original cats next to each other. On the new one, the O2 sensor would be positioned where it would hit the underside of the body (instead of to the side) and prevent the cat from being high enough to bolt on to the muffler.

Yes, I've found the plugs online but there are none at the local stores. Otherwise I might used one and then had a local shop install a new bung fitting in the correct location.
As for the suspension lift, that is not it as the exhaust is hung off of the frame and thus the body to frame clearance is unchanged. It is just that they put the hole and threads for installing the O2 sensor in the wrong location. Grrr. LOL

Of course! Thank you. I knew I had seem those plugs somewhere. They were under my nose, under the car, the whole time.
