Blaze,
I had that strap laying around on a shelf in my garage. You should be able to find it in the building section at lowes/home depot. They are mostly used as support for things being attached to studs or walls. If you have bailing wire that would work too. Just back out the pump bolt and wrap the wire around it and then wrap it around the bolt you put on the top.
Its the same method as I posted except you would be using the wire instead.

It is in plumbing at Lowes. Also used to hang furnace duct if you dont find it in plumbing at HD.
But next time at Harbor Freight, buy several sizes strap wrench.
Or use an old serpentine belt and vice grips
I have to change tensioner pulley, I'll do a pic on it while I have the belt off.

I besides HD and Lowes I dont have a harbor freight by me so I had went to ACE hardware and they only had a small strap wrench which was no use to me lol....but I am def gonna look for that bracket tonight...

To NorCallSS, I have to say that this solution is ingenious! When I rebuilt my 4.3 in my 96, I had to remove and install the water and fan as one piece because I couldn't get the fan off. It made it awkward, but was doable. It never dawned on me to bolt a strap on there, but I will definitely do that next time!

. Im just trying to give back to the site that has givin me TONS of info over the years.
Funny thing was I spent a couple hours trying to get that damn thing off then I finally gave up and went to bed. I was laying in bed thinking of ways to get that clutch off, im sure im not the only one that lays in bed thinking about our cars :-), then the bracket strap came to me. I tried it in the morning and it was so easy that I was embarassed that it was such an easy solution.
Glad it is helping people out in the future.

Easy way to remove fan clutch
After reading the posts on this forum and trying lots of things on my 96 Blazer I noticed that someone had hit my fan nut with a what looked like an air chisel at one time or another. Well, I had an air chisel in my toolbox...so I put a sharp punch tip on it an it took ONE SMALL hit of the trigger and BAM the fan was loose. It's counter-clockwise to loosen for anyone who is as slow as me.
