Default SCFI Spider Question

I was reading some forums about how much better the mfi spider is than the one on the csefi so i wanted to get one for my car, i found the conversion kit at a parts store for $300
So my question is it possible to take the spider from a new mfi engine and swap it into the older engines

Also what will i need from the donor engine (fuel meter body, pressure reg, injectors etc.)

this is just my opinion, if you are going to go through the hassle of trying to convert a older injector system into the newer model, i would suggest to just buy the new one (if you can afford it) I just bought a new fuel injection system for my blazer today lol. The old one had 4 bad injectors in it.

But if you just want to put the older one in, have you or the previous owner been cleaning it on a semi regular basis? If not, then it would be worth it to just buy a new one IMO

no i don't want the older fuel system, I want the new fuel system on the older engine. Ive read that all they have done is move the injector in the place of the poppet nozzle. I have heard they are backwards compatible but I'm not sure. I just needed to know what parts I need to take

For one, please remember to always post your vehicle information. With a title like CPI spider question you won't get the information you need seeing as how you are driving a '96 which is SCFI not CPI.

my apology's for the title at first when i posted i thought cpi was the one i was looking for, i had edited the rest of my post but could not change the title. As for vehicle info i have 96 GMC Jimmy scfi 4 door 4x4 but i was just wondering if the 02 and newer mfi spiders are pretty much a bolt on upgrade for the older engines either scfi or cpi. also what parts that you would need to take from the newer mfi like the pressure regulator or any wiring harness

A quick search for "MFI+upgrade" will answer all of your questions.

I'll fix the title for you.

Hello.
From the information I have read in the past you have one of the better systems built for low end torque.I feel this would be great for towing or hauling heavy loads not to mention once your vehicle is in overdrive it should get better gas mileage. This is about the equivalent of the older TBI system.
