Default Seat Belt is Stuck

My passengers side front seat belt is stuck and won't retract any more than it is, just enough for someone to use but just long enough for the people I drive to work to get it stuck in the door everytime!

Do I need to remove the whole trim and all to replace the thing or is there another way to fix this?

I take it you have already tried yanking it to get it to retract. Generally it will fix it if it gets over extended if not than there is most likely something broke in the recoiler. You can try manually reeling it up but it will involve removing the trim the covers the spool. As to how to remove that im guessing it snaps on, but I have not removed it before so hopefully someone else has that can tell you details about it.

haha I was yanking at it and got it to go back in from hanging to what seemed like the ground to rest on seat ... I'll be playing with it some more here in the next bit.

Thanks

My buddys father works at a US car importers, he seems to think it's quite common on a lot of the cars they get through, 9 times out of 10 they fix it by unbolting the reel and inverting it 180 degrees, this releases the jammed mech.

Apperently it's to do with locking in olace if you crash, just incase some one smashes in to you after you already stopped
