security status led

I assume this would be in addition to the SECURITY indicator in the dash, right?
I do not know or have the OEM security system, but I would think that the security module provides the ground or return side to illuminate the SECURITY lite; so if you constructed your LED circuit and connected the return side of this circuit to the wire that goes to the dash connector for the SECURITY lite, it would likely work. I think the OEM security module would be able to handle the small additional current load of a single LED.
You would have to pull the dash apart and trace the wiring as I doubt that you are going to find any information on the OEM security module/wiring. Should be pretty easy to do though.
Good luck.
