SES Code P0446
Ok, the vehicle poop first: 2001 Chevy Blazer LT 4X4, 4-door with 122,390 miles on it. Now with that said I have a Code P0446 that will not go away. I know that this has been posted before; I just need a little help on where to start first. I have seen posts on the EVAP Canister, EVAP System Surge Purge Solenoid, and/or various sensors. My question is basically where are all these monsters??? I am not completely mechanically challenged; I can do some basic things. I just need an idea on where to look first and go from there. "Are they hard to get to?" That kind of things. The truck seems to run fine, it's just irritating not to be able to get this stupid thing to go away. I did try to check the price on the canister and the solenoid at our local Advanced Auto and they told me they did not stock them as they were dealer only items. Any help would be tremendously appreciated. Thanks, JP.

Start here:
P0446 - Evaporative Emission Control System Vent Control Circuit
The Vent solenoid is located on the cross member directly ahead of the spare tire. This can be tested off of the truck for sealing as well as for actuation.
As far as your question on component locations... The EVAP Canister is located behind the driver side rear tire behind the bumper end cap. The purge solenoid is located on the engine between the distributor and the ICM/Coil. There is the previously mentioned vent solenoid. And then there is the fuel tank pressure sensor in the fuel pump assembly and all of the associated EVAP lines.
