Default Simple, stupid coolant reserve tank question

Where exactly should the fluid level be at in the tank. The way it reads is, Check Hot at the very top of the tank. Then going down there is a Full mark, under that there is a -------, under that it says Hot, under that it says Add and under that there is another-------. Usually in my past cars, there was alwas a cool level indication. The manual says only that it should be filled to the full mark. But which one?

I hope you guy's can figure out what I'm trying to ask.

Many thanks in advance.

It's for very literal people who might not understand WHY but will DO.

Check hot just means when to check.
Full is the description of the next line down. Then ADD is the description of the line below that.

That depends on if your engine is hot or cold, if it's cold, fill it to the full mark, if your engine is already warmed up, fill it to the full when hot mark.

Err.. no. If it's cold fill it to the 'Add' mark

I'll restate it .. there are only two levels shown on his bottle:

"Check Hot" means When GM wants you to check coolant level

"Full" is the description of the line underneath it.. meaning if it's at the top line when hot, it's got sufficient coolant

"Add" is the description of the bottom mark when engine hot. If coolant is below that line when hot, add coolant until it's at the full mark.

Now here's something some already know but can be helpful: The 'Add' {when hot} mark is pretty much the same as where the 'Full when cold' would be, if there was one.
