Default SMART LOCK IS ACTING UP

It just happened all of a sudden. I don't know if all blazers are equipped with the smart lock key but for everyone's information, before you can start the ignition, you need to insert the smart lock key first. Upon inserting the smart lock key, the red blinking light will light up steadily. This means that you can now start your engine. However, last night, I did the usual thing but the red blinking light kept blinking. I had to play with the alarm a number of times. And I guess, it was a tough luck that it made it start. Anyone who has an idea on what the problem could be? I'd appreciate any help.
