Default Speedometer Flickering/ABS light

Well today on my way home from the Airport my Speedometer started flickering(Started around 130KM/H=80MPH). At this exact same time my ABS light came on. Does anybody have any ideas what could be causeing this? I tapped into the VSS sensor about a month ago for my overhead consol but the issues just started.

Both can be caused by an inconsistent VSS signal. How did you tap into this signal? And where?

I used a line tap in the engine compartment right beside the PCM. I tried to pick up the code in the system with my scan tool and had no luck. Im stumped. I will disconnect the wire I have connected to the VSS sensor and see if I have any better luck...

Just for more insight when I shut down and start back up the ABS light turns off.

Ok well the issue is fixed when I remove the wire that goes to my overhead consol unit...My one question now is where can I get a VSS signal from that will not give me the above symptoms..

Is it possible that water has gotten into the line tap and caused some signal degradation in this line?

I would have cut the wire, slid some 3M heat shrink tubing that has some glue inside it then solder all of the wires back together, shrinking the tubing on last to seal the connection back up.

But I am not sure what kind of impact the tapping of the signal wire would have... I think the original trip computer got its signal from a source on the BCM.
