Speedometer issue ?
Hey all, I have a 99 Blazer I recently purchased. And it only has 57K original miles, it was a blessing to find. But I noticed that the speedometer rises slowly when I'm at a dead stop and begin driving. It seems as if it's slow by 5-10mph, I appreciate anyone's help on what is causing the issue.
Thanks,
Ralf

On my 1999, I had my speedometer stick at certain speeds and then jump to the next highest or lowest speed. My solution was to replace the instrument cluster. It fixed the problem but the odometer was then off by an additional 35,000 miles.

I appreciate your input, but I don't want to resort in replacing the instrument cluster with another one. Especially since mine has an original 57K miles on it.

You probably found that the stepper motors in '99s were still the air-core type and very difficult to find, and expensive when you do find them. I had hoped that I could convert to stepper motors, but haven't found any information on that.
My "solution" was to get a used dash from a scrapper, and test for the good a-c motors.
BTW, the >.C motors work on both the fuel level and the coolant temperature gauges. The others are dedicated to one function.
