Default speedometer pegged while parked



98 bravada. this is the least of the trucks worries but its the one problem i really dont know anything about.

Could be a problem with the cluster... Do you have access to a full feature scan tool? My Autoenginuity scanner can command positions of all of the gauges.

i was hoping it isnt the cluster, but hopefully not the computer. i really cant drive it yet to see if it would go away or reset. but yeah we got a obd2 genesis scanner at work that can pretty much do anything

The scanner will also tell you if the VSS is providing the proper information to the PCM. The scanner would be my first stop.

Did you end up fixing the issue? I am having the same issue on my 2002 Blazer, it happen after I replace the water pump and try to start it up

the truck pretty much fixed itself. it had a bunch of other more important issues that needed addressing first, after worked on it for a few weeks i got the engine together, started it up and it was fine. i did have the battery disconnected for a few weeks while i was fixing everything so maybe get lucky and it just needs a battery pull
