Default Spider Assembly Part #

I have been getting this dreadful P0303 error code on my 2001 GMC Jimmy 4x4. I have replaced the fuel filter, Distributor Cap and Rotor (AC Delco), Spark Plugs (Bosch Platinum Plus), Wires (Bosch), O2 Sensors.

Cylinder 3 plug has a heavy carbon build up, even after replacing it and rechecking it after about 10miles driving. O2 sensor (on bank of where cylinder 3 is located) also had a heavy carbon build up.

I guess all signs are point to the injection system. But I am getting different part #'s from different dealers. #17113273 and #19210688, each dealer is arguing that that is the right part#

any help would be great to determine the correct part needed.

What are you working on? From the part numbers, it appears to be the 2nd gen SCFI motor...

17113273 is the spiders main metering body only and does not include any injectors.

GMPartsDirect.com shows part number pk19210688 as the SCFI to MFI upgrade 'kit' which includes the spider gasket, upper plenum gasket, the bracket, and the MFI spider. This will work with all 96+ trucks and is a good upgrade to do. GMPD.com has it for $230 +S&H.

In short, both apply to your truck, but only one is the one you want and that is pk19210688.

thanks for the quick reply, PK19210688 was the right part. I was about 10 minutes shy of ordering the part and scheduling the mechanic when I came across this bulletin #99066G from GM.

Turns out my truck falls under this 10 year/ 200,000 mile warranty to replace the SCPI with the new MFI.

The California EPA forced GM to extend the warranty on this part, because of environmental air pollution. We'll this is the first time the tree huggers saved me some money.

turns out this solved the problem P303 IS HISTORY.

On a side note the dealer tried to up sell me on having the fuel pump replaced since they said the fuel pressure was low. Even though the car runs fine. Wanted $1000 to do the job. of course I passed.
