my old one,i took it off,and sprayed 2 cans of brake cleaner on it while wiping it every few min.. it fixed the stickyness,but killed the color a bit.


but hey...no more stickyness.

I am not sure just what the steering wheel material actually is; I thought it was some type of vinyl, but why it becomes sticky when wet and begins to crumble and gets all over the hands......?????......

I have tried cleaning it with various stuff and nothing has worked yet.

Maybe GM designed it this way so that when the roads get wet the driver's hand(s) never leave the steering wheel!!

Have yet to make it to a salvage yard...but on my "to do" list.
