Default Sway bar snapped off lower control arm bracket

My sway bar on the drivers side snapped off breaking off the bracket that is connected to the lower control arm. Now I am unable to connect it. Besides getting a new lower control arm, is there any other way to get that bracket back on somehow? Like welding it back on? Is that reccomended or not? Just trying to find a solution.

This is not uncommon. Welding or replacing is the only way to remedy it sorry.

I am curious as to what you were doing to snap the sway bar???

I think replacing the lower control arm is required as the sway bar bracket is pretty small to try to get welded back on.

2WD or 4WD?

I would think cheapest would be the junk yard.

Pictures?

I was driving to and from work/ family errands. Nothing serious although I do live in The Bronx and the potholes here can be pretty bad.

Replacing the lower control arm is definitely something I want to aviod! Especially if I just had it replaced last december.

I want to consider welding it back on.....it is 4wd

Yes, pot holes will do it.

and you said that you just had the lower control arm replaced last Dec, why was that? Was it new or used?

Anyways suggest calling around to various shops and ask them about welding it back on. Any cahnce of taking a picture of the broken area and posting it? Am curious.

Good luck with this.

Along this line of inquiry, I was raising my 02 Xtreme with the floor jack under the driver side sway bar bracket and there was a loud "crack" sound. I switched the jack to somewhere else but upon inspection could not see any damage to the bushing or bracket or note any when driving.
Something broke - what was it??

This has happened to me a few weeks ago. Same side and everything.

I took my sway bar off, been trying to find someone local that is willing to weld it back on. No shop I've contacted is willing to. But I've been fine without it. No extra wear happening. Just a little more flexible.
