Kinda curious of the syptoms of a bad or going bad EGR Valve and Throttle Body Sensor? 1996 4.3 Vortec engine. And when i get it started it spits out black not oily water in my opinion, Looks like old Bong water or a dirty ashtray that`s hasen`t been cleaned out in a few months and, starts with starting fluid runs but if you take your foot off the gas peddle it sputters and dies any ideas? FPR,Fuel pump and filter have all been replaced

 

What brand fuel pump and fpr? they make a big difference on these. for the egr id just pull it off,scrub the little piston with some brake cleaner and put it back on. they usually dont go bad. they just get dirty.

 

Honestly i bought the fuel pump off E-Bay and the Fuel Pressure regulator is a "GP Sorenson" i hope that helps homie. And the fuel pump is good i hear it running when i turn the key thing is it don`t wanna start unless i use starting fluid

 

ebay pump eh? id have the fuel pressure checked...the check it valve in the pumps are terrible. it might be leaking the pressure off once the vehicles off. 60 psi at key 0n,and if it doesnt hold above 55 for 10 min,time it buy a ac delco pump.
