Trailer weight
#11
When I bought my 2000 a few months ago, I looked at a lot of Blazers.. and one thing I looked for was a trailer hitch. If it had one - I turned and ran away from it. There is no way I'd want to stress the auto transmission in these trucks.... it costs WAY too much money to repair... basically, it's worth as much as the truck itself. And like has already been said, the brakes are barely adequate for the weight of the truck itself, let alone any load. Unless you MUST tow a trailer with your blazer, I'd hit up a friend or rent a UHaul for the trip. (just my opinion)

For a light boat,a pop-up:fine! Anything over a ton:forget it! These are NOT safe tow vehicles!Talk to anyone that has fought a Kansas wind in a Blazer pullin' any kind of trailer! Not stout enoungh-aerodynamics wrong! Been there.....

This one weighs in @1000lbs dry
putting on a reciever hitch to lower the hitch/ level the trailer and plan on replacing all sway bar bushings with eurothane on the rear of the Blazer
It does have electric brakes but have not used them yet and feel that I could get away without them but that will also go on with the new hitch
