Default updating the look of 99 blazer cheaply

So i just got a 99 blazer 4dr 2wd.. It will need a paint job so i figure i could make it look more updated. What should be done? i know newer vehicles dont have all the chrome, can the chrome bumpers be painted? the black park removed? how easy is it to remove the fender trim?

I figure painting the door handles body color would help as well. And the grill is different right?

fender trim is easy, just a few screws, and the molding on the door is stuck on with tape and more a time consuming thing. The black molding on the front bumper i believe is just some plastic clips on the back but I don't know if that would he hard to put back on or take off. The front grill is really easy also, pop the hood and just pull on the grill at the edge and work your way slowly not to break it and then un-clip the turn signals lights and fogs if you have them.
