what sets off factory alarm
I have never been able to get the factory alarm to go off. I was just wondering what sets it off. I have opened the door from the inside with the doors locked, used the wire hanger through the door and pushed the unlock button, nothing seems to set it off. well, I had someone bust my passenger side door glass last night and my neighbors said the factory alarm was going off around 1:30am. I'm glad it did because it must have scared them off, they didnt get anything, partly thanks to a faulty button that pops the glass on the back tail gate. When i discovered it this morning the gate with the spare tire was open, but my subs and amp were still in the back. I guess they tried to push the button to pop the glass and when they discovered it didn't work they jetted. They didnt even get my valuables in the front. But anyway, in conclusion i was just wondering what made the factory alarm go off. thanks

There is a delay from when you lock the door until the alarm activates. Try leaving your window down and locking your truck up. Then come back out 15 or so minutes later and unlock the door and open it. See if that sets it off.
