What's this???

So is the vent/filter that routes up next to the trans dipstick tube for the trans or the transfer case?...and the one for the front diff is next to the radiator??
Just trying to keep things straight.

Lanny81,
Post #2 presents the question, post #4 clarifies it.
The vent on the transmission dipstick tube is for both the NV233 & NV236 transfer cases. If it has the NV233, the vent for the front axle actuator is teed into the same line. NV236 front axle actuator vent is part of the electro vacuum switch on the firewall.
The line & filter clipped to the driver side of the cooling fan shroud is the vent for the front differential.

3 button, NV233 uses DexronVI fluid.
4 button, NV236 uses Auto-tracII.
DON'T mix them up, they are not interchangeable.
