Whining noise, someone school the noob please.
Just bought a 2002 Blazer, 2 DR 2 WD.
MY question, is when I bought the car, I listened to the music a lot. I've been running low on CDs so I have been riding in silence some. I have than started to notice a whining sound (low, nothing you can really hear outside of the truck when driving next to it, so it seems). The noise does not kick in right away, seems to start about 5 minutes after i've been driving. Secondaly, it always kicks in at around 2900 RPMs.
I don't want to have to go rely on any techs @ Chavy to jerk me around, so i'm trying to get some info out of anyone more knowledgable than me. I'm a football guy. Not a car guy, so if this sounds stupid, sorry.

Also, call me a idiot if need be, but I never took into effect the Vortec V6 logo I see sitting inside the Chevy. Someone school me on if this has anything to do with it. Remember, I suck @ cars. Sports is my game.

2900rpms. My 2K 4.3L engine doens't get to 2900rpms and I am doing 80.
That whinning sound would be your guardian angle begging you to slow down.
Seriously, need a little more info on the whine. Does it sound like your fuel pump? Crawl in the back of your truck and have a frien turn the key to the on position, not the start position. Hear that sound, that is the fuel pump working.
The other option is your air intake. Change your air filter and see if that makes any difference.

it could be alternator wine. thats very common, im suffering from it. but its usually pretty noticeable, nothing faint. where are you hereing the wine come from? are you saying its coming from the speakers? if so, theres not much to do about it. its probably a bad ground connection somewhere in the midst of the sea of wires. inform me as to where this noise is coming from.
