Default Window motor replacement help please.

Hi guys! I am in the process of trying to replace a power window motor on my 2000 blazer and am running into some problems. I followed the guide at https://blazerforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=22965 and found that once I drill out the rivets the spacing it too tight to fit in a bolt to secure the new motor and on top of that the old rivets cannot be removed because of the sector gear right behind it.. Am I doing something wrong? Also when drilling out one of the rivets it is spinning freely in the hole and not drilling..Any ideas how to get it out? Thanks very much!

You might be able to shear the rivet head off with a chisel or a grinder. Once the head is gone you should be able to pry the motor loose. Once the motor is out you should be able to figure out how to get a nut on the backside. I would try a thin open end wrench and position the nut in the wrench and line it up with the mounting hole and try and get a bolt started while the wrench is holding the nut in positon. Make sure you have a bolt that is just long enough to secure the motor. I would even put locktite on the bolt threads to preclude the bolt from loosening. You could even use some tape to secure the nut in the wrench to keep it from falling out but will allow you to pull the wrench out once you get a bolt started.

Also did you follow the instructions to remove the window regulator. I just read the llink and it says to remove the window regulator and then remove the motor from the window regulator. I have done power window motors in the past but not on a 2000 Blazer and each car is a little different on what you have to take apart.
