1995 Blazer - What Oil Type?
Hey guys,
I've been running 5w-30 in the 1995 Blazer while working on it and test driving. Seems I've somehow got the thing running correctly now. Does everyone else run 5w-30 in their Blazers or is this just mainly a temp/user preference? My oil cap says 5w-30, but Haynes shows also can use 10w-30 in warmer temps?? I'm just wondering cause my oil pressure is running around 20-25 warm at idle and didn't know whether the heavier oil would help in summer or even if that idle oil pressure is okay for these Blazers.

5w30 is find unless you are driving in temps over 100*F for extended periods of time, 5w30 is fine. Your owners manual should state when to use 10w30 as far as climates go.
20-25psi warm at idle is more than enough.
