#1 I would like to personally thank you for your contribution to this forum of "Factory Ball Joint Replacement"

It was one of the first DIY's I used from here and it saved me hundreds when I had ZERO!

If you look I think it has around 4500 hit's. If only a percentage of people used it thats many thousands of dollars you personally have helped people save in these tough times.

Do you have any idea how much you saved by not being towed by the predatory parking lot tow people.

It would have been $500 just to get it out of there impound lot. Then a tow from there.

Your decision was entirely sound, no kicking yourself required.

Thanks AGAIN!!!

JEFF.

Thanks for the thanks. Those ball joints are a PITA if you don't have at least some guidance. I'm glad that it has helped a bunch of people, I know I have had a lot of help from this forum, and others too. I am not a mechanic, I'm a chiropractor that loves to tinker and I'm not afraid to get dirty. Without these forums I would be lost.

My first instinct was starter, but it was a pothole filled parking lot with water/mud everywhere. I read that the starter replacement can be troublesome and I didn't feel like taking it on in a parking lot. Being that I banged on the starter with no luck, the ignition switch seemed like an easier try and just as likely of a culprit. I really do need to learn the multimeter tool for me to consider myself a real DIYer.

I "paid the man" as someone put it because it gave me piece of mind that I would have my vehicle back in a day rather than 1-5 days of headache. In hind sight I wish I would have gone with my instinct, but I did learn a lesson. Also didn't want to screw an independent mechanic by not having him fix what he found.

I did find a trustworthy mechanic that I can count on if I don't want to give it a go myself. He just became a patient of mine, and that will more than pay for the repair.

Take it easy everyone!
