Question 1995 Chevy Blazer s10

I have a 1995 blazer with the v6 vortec engine. It cut off on me, the fuel pump was not kicking on, so I replaced it and the fuel filter. Now it is starting and running but acts like it wants to die out when going up hills when you have to give it more gas. There was a hole in the gas tank, so it was missing now and then before, but ok if i put dry gas in it. I put the same fuel back in after changing everything, so i don't know if it's just a matter of moisture or what. If you have any ideas I would appreciate it, I'm used to driving vehicles from the '70's, much easier to figure out.
thanks

Start with a fuel pressure test. You will want to hook the gauge up so that you can see it while you are driving down the road. If you need to extend the pressure line to do so, then do it. You need to see if the pressure is dropping out when you feel it bog down.
