1995 CPI Fuel pressure regulator brand quality, is more $$$ better?

Put in a fuel pump last spring and started getting starting problems. Fuel pressure test gauge showed fuel pressure wasn't holding at all. Finally got it in the garage and pulled the upper intake. Sure enough regulator is leaking. I did see a small gas pool under the nut kit lines but no washout trace in the manifold or the lines.

So I priced out regulators and manifold gasket from the local part stores, online and auction website. Regulator go for anywhere from $10 to $80 and $2 to $20 for the gasket. I barely put 1k miles a year pulling the trailer to home depot or dumping branches. I did spring for the better fuel pump but I'm thinking of taking the cheap route this time for the regulator. Seems the local store don't stock anything so I have to order anyway.

1.> Anyone had a bad experience the cheap knockoff regulator?
2.> What about the gasket? The old one looks fine, can I simply reuse it?
3.> Do I need to order any other parts (o-rings, ...) to replace the regulator?

Thanks in advance!
Dave

On rock auto they have one for sale for about 35 bucks CAD I got that one and have had no problems.
Might as well get one that's not too cheap

I'll get one. Just seems nowadays there is no such thing as better quality parts. Even when you pay premium they're essentially the cheapo parts with a "lifetime" warranty. In other words you buy an endless supply of $10 parts for an initial cost of $100. Parts on order, hopefully I'll get it wrapped up next weekend.

everyone recommends the steel lined Fel-Pro for the l i m. I know you're in the upper but I wonder if you might want to go for the better gasket again up there as well.

I got a ACDelco 10105939 UIM gasket. I might end up reusing the old one anyway.
