1996 blazer gas leek

ok i have a 1996 4 dr s-10 4x4 that had a bad fuel pump. i replaced the fuel sending unit/pump myself and while i was dropping the fuel tank i broke the "roll-over vent valve" (replaced with one i got from chevy dealership) but every time i go to fill up on gas it leaks from around the area of the new vent valve. so i'm wondering if i just installed it wrong or do i / should i put some silicone or liquid gasket around it to seal it better.

also im not sure if i hooked up the lined all right to the sending unit i know the fuel feed is right but not sure if the evap and return lines are in the correct spot. any help here is really appreciated.

Yeah silicone is always good when installing a gasket. Blue RTV would prolly work the best.

You can find a wide variety of silicones and gasket sealers at your local AutoZone. Sorry, just had to do that ;) As Patrick says, I'm the AZ spokesman, lol.
