1996 A/C Compressor not turning on

problem solved
a/c is working great with new evap core, have much better air volume flowing, i am blowing air about 55-60 degrees witht ambient temp about 100, i still cant believe i missed the orifice tube in the intake of the evap core and that was my problem after replacing it, but oh well i know now. i am pretty sure it also doesnt help that my blazer is black with the north Texas heat and sun blazing down, but i think i am good now, i went for a drive to see how long it would take to cool down Nd it was comfortable in about 10 minutes but this was also after chargine the system with it running in the bacy yard and the engine temp was up a bit more than normal it would be driving down the road, helps to have airflow over the condenser, i did put a fan in front of blazer while i was charging but that is no substitute for driving. i can say i learned alot which i guess is the important thing on my second a/c adventure, first was a complete rebuild on a saturn s series sedan, but that knowledge helped tremendously. thank you to those that offered ideas, opinions, and experience.

i am having the same problem i used a stapler as the jumper cable since the ac comersor jack just was not starting the ac, i think the cable or wireing may be bad and now its not doing it at all if i plug it in the low pressure side it dosnt not work at all with a stapler it kicks on and off every so often
