2000 4.3 cam install
 

I'm wanting to put a big cam in my blazer to get that killer sound. Any idea what the best cam to use is and what all do I need to change for the cam on the motor. Any help or opinions are welcome. Thanks

Comp Cams is the only one making cams for these motors, that I know of.

Installing the camshaft is a pretty involved job, you'll need to remove, valve covers, lifters, distributor, intake manifold, water pump, pulleys, harmonic balancer, timing chain cover, timing chain, plus you'll also have to install new valve springs.

Than after you get it all put back togther you'll have to get the PCM tuned for it.

Can't you get an entire kit that comes with springs and litters and all parts needed? Would I need different push rods?

I'm not so much worried about how much it would take to install it because my blazer is wrecked and I'm rebuilding it and the motor is already out. And I also like a good challenge. Also I have a buddy that can tune the PCM for me at no charge

Go to Cam Kits - Lunati Power look up the cam kits &/or call their service/tech line. They make cams & cam kits for the 4.3 & we also have a counter balence shaft that has to be taken into consideration when grinding the cams.

What all do the Lunati kits come with?
