2000 blazer airbag removal
 

I have a 2dr 2000 blazer that needs the ignition switch replaced. I have the airbag system completely disabled, the problem i'm having is the instructions say to place a screwdriver in the slot in the back of the steering wheel and push on the spring to release the airbag. I have tried this over and over again, I cannot get it to release. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
