I have a 2000 blazer LS. While driving on the hwy the other day the vehicle's ignition turned over. scared the crap out of me... i do have a remote start on it. Since then it will turn over periodically, sometimes when i'm in the vehicle sometimes when you outside the car. the ignition turns over but never starts. When this happens while driving ..(besides the noise all the lights on the dash come on for a few seconds. today i pulled out the remote start mod and its still doing it. the starter is less that 4months old. is this an ignition switch problem?

Seroiusly doubt the ignition switch could cause it. From the ignition switch, the START wire has to go through the neutral safety switch and a relay before the starter will engage. The remote start connects to a bunch of wires on the ignition switch harness, and some have circuits that go to the neutral switch. More likely the remote start is causing the problem. Better get under the dash and take a close look at the add on wiring. Remove it and insulate the bare wires on the vehicle harness.

look at starter and make sure it is tight. could be loose enough or wiring loose enough to ground out

If the remote start was installed correctly that still should never happen. The neutral safety sw should prevent it.
It's remotely possible the wiring at the solenoid could cause it. But that leaves the issue of dash lights being on as well. You're going to have to do some wiggle and tug on that wiring to see if you can find the spot where there's a problem. Or remove the added wiring altogehter.
