2000 Blazer Whining/ noise?

I have a 2000 Chevy Blazer, whenever it is running there is a loud whine coming from sounds like the intake area or back of the engine compartment. it makes the noise in all gears, even in park and neutral. i cant figure out what is wrong with it. i have a link to the video i took today.

Any ideas? Thanks

Neat, seems to drop out the second you open the throttle body, feel the pcv valve.

i checked the pcv valve and i am going to change it and the hose too it had a big slice in it.we will see if that does anything..

With the engine running, put a hand on the distributor and see if you can feel a vibration. Could be the distributor bushings are worn and the rotor is rubbing the cap.

You could also remove the belt and start the engine. If the noise is gone then it is one of the belt driven assemblies.

Let us know what you find.

I checked the pcv valve but it seemed to be working right. but the pcv rubber elbow was trashed. quick fix and no more noise. thanks guys.
