2000 gmc jimmy please help!!
 

I took my daughter to school today and as im driving home im 30 seconds away from home and I notice my oil pressure dropped very low. So I get home and open up the hood and oil is everywhere. What could have caused this?! Do I just add more oil and see if it happens again or what should I do?? Any helps appreciated!

Better check the oil cooler lines, they are a known problem. Directly under the engine cooling fan shroud you can see them, (gotta crawl underneath to see 'em). There are 2 sections of rubber line that connect to aluminum tubes. There is another set of lines that run from the oil filter mount to the radiator, (on the driver side).

Okay I did that I didnt see anything that was broke. Bit I did see that the top line coming out of the oil filter is kinked oil can pass thru it but if its kinked like that im sure thats a problem but what/where would the oil have came out of??

The lines typically leak at the crimp connections, and in some cases, the rubber line will rupture. Top off the oil level, start the engine and look for the leak. Shouldn't be too hard to find if it made that big of a mess ;)

Hello! So today I figured out where the leak was. The oil cooler hose that runs to the radiator the clamp came off and thats how the oil escaped. Now I have a second problem! I went to start it after I changed the oil when i went to crank the motor over there is a grinding noise could that be a bad starter? Even if I just touch the key to crank it grinds. Any helps appreciated!

Could be the starter, or it could be the oil cooler line hitting the fan, or the fan shroud hitting the fan. Just have to look around and see where it's coming from.
