2000 LS 4wd Blazer belt/pulley squeaking

After replacing belt w oreilly belt 1 year ago it's now squeaking bad. In the middle of winter. Am gonna replace the belt with a Goodyear Gatorback and
also the idler pulley. From the Rockauto site I see GOODYEAR Gatorback Part # 4060950 for the belt but not sure which brand I should use for the
idler pulley.

please advise.

I don't know part numbers but I know damn near all the GM's eat idler pulleys on a regular basis.

I feel your pain, I too have a squeaky belt and I have replaced everything except the a/c/ compressor & power steering pump. The noise is coming from the right side. Now I replaced the belt with a Dayco and I wish I would have used a Goodyear Gatorback. I used Dayco tensioner pulley which is in question as far as the squeak goes along with the belt. Idle pulley I used a Gates and have no problem with it for at 4 years now. Gates was also made in the USA. I don't recall but I think the Dayco were NOT made in the USA.

The last thing that might be making my squeak is the Advance auto reman alt I put on my truck. Let's just say I am not pleased with it. I had to replace it once within a year under warranty. I knew then and I am now sorry I didn't replace it with new. But it at least is working now. Live and learn.

So all I am saying is try to buy the best part $$ can buy and try to buy American made parts. Not just an American company that has their parts made in China. Now adays I see alot of oem boxes that say made in Mexico, Canada, China which just makes me shake my head in shame. Sorry I had to get that in it . :icon_oldskewl:
