2001 blazer won't start passlock?

Hi_ I am a new member to the site. I have a 2001 blazer 4x4 2 weeks ago my blazer wouldn't start. Had it jumped off, took it auto store they said need new battery. Bought a new battery and my daytime running light wouldn't work, had alternator tested said was fine. Later that night took 4 times to start, lights came on. Next day no start, wouldn't jump off either. Had it towed to a shop, mechanic said security system, tried to relearn it several times and it starts once and that's it. Any suggestions besides taking it to dealer. I have done a lot of research and keep coming to the passlock system. Also been told a remote start would help fix it.

I would suspect a bad ignition switch.

Does your "security" light pop on and stay on when you are having these problems? If so, then it is most likely the ignition switch.

A remote start will only fix it if you remote start it every time. If you ever try with the key, it will do the same thing again.

Just replace the switch. Its a quick fix, and the part is like $60 at autozone.

I feel as though I'm unlucky, all these problems have happened to me. Replace the switch. They are known to be faulty. I have also found that before I placed it , the position of my steering height adjuster if thats a word lol was a large factor on whether or not it would fail.

worst comes to worse, just leave the key on start, wait ten minutes and try to start it. It won't start, turn the key to off, then she should start right back up....
