Default 2002 Blazer is stalling out... HELP PLEASE!!!:(

hi guys, it's been a while since i've been here.

i've got a question about my '02 Blazer. it's been periodically stalling out lately. the problem used to only arise when it's hot out, running the AC at the max AC setting, and in town. well, it started it today on the highway at 75 and continued to do so with or without the AC running.

could this be a fuel filter problem? if so, what's the best brand to get?

i am a tad bit perturbed right now because i just put $500 worth of tires on it today and now it seems to be acting up worse, lol.

also, the the heater/AC fan only works on the 2 and 3 settings but not on the 1 and 4. what could cause this?

thanks for your time...

D

have you checked your alternator?
if it is weak and cannot maintain voltage under load (running a/c) that might do it.

your whole system is electronic and with out power you will be outta luck.

i had an alt fail while driving...weird exp. systems seemed to shut down little by little...then battery was toasted...not a good day.

the speeds only working on the blower that way i believe is a failure of the regulator/resistor connected to the blower motor...double check me on that.
it is located to the drivers side of the blower motor on the firewall...look for a short connector close to the blower motor..

google this

blazerforum.com blower motor not working on all speeds

will kick up some threads for ya

I would do a live data scan so you can see what the computer is seeing when it acts up.

Have you gotten a CEL? Had the same problem and it turned out to be the fuel tank pressure switch. Ended up replacing the whole fuel pump....

Cannon - Why did you have to replace the whole fuel pump assembly? I was able to purchase the FTP sensor by itself. Even installed it without dropping the tank.

Dice - Check engine light....I hope you have one...it will help!

Changing the filter wont hurt but I bet it doesnt help either. Troubleshoot the problem - its cheaper than throwing parts at it hoping you accidently replace the bad part - Expensive!
