2002 S10 Blazer Issues
 

Hi - I have a right hand drive Blazer that I just purchased (in Australia)

Hoping for some insight into issues (mostly should be the same as North American )

- Drivers door sags when opening and needs to be slammed to close (assume this is door pins?) , any advice on changing door pins?

-Electrics seem stuffed. - Power windows - none work, heater , blower fan etc, nothing seems to work

-Suspension seems very soft - If I push on it from the side it sways back and forth a lot.... is this likely shocks or springs?

ANy help would be appreciated. It has been over 20 years since I worked on a GM

The door pin bushings are a very common problem, and there are a ton of threads on this forum discussing them. Fortunately, they are not difficult to replace, as long as you have the spring tool, which can be purchased inexpensively. If you do a search, you should get all the info you need.

The suspension is kind of soft from the factory (remember, it's more of a grocery getter than an off-road vehicle, at least in stock form), but a good set of shocks definitely makes a difference, especially if yours are worn. Also, check the ball joints, tie rod ends, idler arm, etc. Front end wear on these things is super common.

The door sagging is a top 5 issue with our trucks. The usual fix is to replace the bushings. If the bushing holes are a little wallowed out then their are over sized bushings. If the holes in the brackets are oblong then the fix is more involved. There are many threads here on the subject. You need to get to it before your strick plate and jam crack.

Which electrical issue do you want to start with. We can fix them all if your up for the autopsy work.

Thanks. I can see that the top bushing is actually broken. New pins and bushes have been ordered. I will replace the front shocks for sure and the upper control arms seem to need replacing also.
