2004 4X4 Oil Pan removal

This is my first post on this forum so go easy on me if I screw it up! I have a 2004 S10 Blazer 4X4 that I need to replace the Oil Pan Gasket on. I have already checked the pan bolts and replaced the remote oil filter lines. Problem is that even though the Haynes Manual I have says it can be done with the engine in I think the rear most pan bolts are up by the rear main seal which are inaccessible with out removing the engine or the transmission. Can someone confirm or deny this for me?

Any Ideas?? Anyone?

Been discussed before. The FSM states to pull the engine to remove the oil pan. The main reason is to keep the proper alignment of the pan to the block since the pan is a structural part of the engine (has been since the use of the all aluminum pan). It better supports the engine/transmission connection.

Thank You very much! Just wanted to be sure the manual I had was wrong.

Appreciate the reply.
