4WD and ABS probs on S10 , 2001 , 4.3

Hi

I have the following probs:

#1 - When the engine is warm, the lights for ABS and handbrake are getting on (this only happens when the motor ia realy warm)
#2 - I cant switch to 4HI or AUTO 4WD and there is no noise from behind the dashboard. The indicatorlight is flashing. 4LO is allmost working. I can hear a „klick“ from behind the dashboard and I can feel something from the gearbox. 4Lo is working but the indicatorlight is flashing.

Now I read that the computer for ABS and the TCCM are both located behind the glove box.

So maybe this two failures are caused by one problem (maybe connection?) – what do you think?

Sorry for my poor english !

Very best regards from cold Germany

With the ABS, it really isn't worth speculating. If the light is on, a code is stored. Get the codes read and go from there.

As far as the 4wd system goes, the TCCM is located behind the passenger side kick panel and the encoder motor is on the driver side of the transfer case. Check the connections on the TCCM and the encoder motor. Also, remove the switch in the dash and check for proper resistance values when you press each button on the switch (search for "NV236+resistance" with an author of "swartlkk").
