4wd ?'s

the thing under the battery tray.. is it the 4wd actuator? has the male end on the right side that's goin into some springy thing w/ a rubber around it. sorry, i know i suck at explaining these things, but this 4wd is eatin me up. anyways, that actuator or whatever it is is jacked up. is it hard to replace?

That is the actuator and it's not hard to replace. Remove the one or 2 bolts holding it to the wheel well and then slide the clip up that holds the cable in place and remove the rubber hose that goes into the actuator. Very easy to replace.

They tend to go bad, the rubber diaphragm will spit and cause the actuator to lose complete "sucking power" thus causing your 4WD to not engage
