Hi All,
I have a 99 gmc jimmy the 4x4 works good but the led for 4hi seems to be inconsistently on. wheather on or off though the truck is still in 4x4 I tested on a snowy day. When the led is not on, no led's are on but i still have 4x4 working. No problems observed so far in 2hi.
It's primarily my wife's daily driver and recently twice she has said she will start driving and the tach will go screwy and the speedo will go screwy and she will have very little throttle response and be unable to drive, until playing with the 4x4 buttons usually going into auto4x4 and she can drive again.
(the first time shifting to 2Hi made the problem go away then the second time it happened 2 days later 2hi didn't fix it neither did going back to 4hi but then going to auto did and she drove home.)
I looked at the connections to the switch and the tccm and they all check out ok put back together with dielectric grease.
only rust i saw was on back cover of tccm which worried me a little.
But i can never get the truck to act up for me except the led problem described at start wich started about the same time.
I want to open up the tccm up and look inside but didn't have time earlier tonight.
Sorry for the novel.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks.
