95 Blazer - Goes In 4WD, but Not OUT!! HELP!!
 

Hey All,

I was working on my 1995 Blazer this weekend, just doing small stuff, paint touch up, oil change, fixing some broken vents on the dash. Pretty easy stuff.

However, when I finished I learned that my beloved blazer has gone "Renegade" on me!

the push button 4X4 system will easily go INTO 4wd (high) while on the move, but it won't come back out of 4wd to 2wd, which is NOT good for my truck on the pavement.

When I'm stopped with the engine off, I can push the 2wd to 4Hi buttons and hear a distinct click sound from up front. When I do the opposite 4Hi back to 2wd I can hear the same mechanical sound ... It sounds like it is working / moving and the indicator lights do change in both directions If I remember right, the indicator lights would blink for a second or two while changing, now the change of the indicator lights is instant.

The big problem is that when I go to shift from 4wd high back to 2wd it won't come out.

The light on the dash shifts, but you can still feel the drag on the front wheels and feel it binding up on the pavement.

What sould I check or do to fix this?? I need my truck daily for work, so this is a MAJOR issue for me.
