Angry 96' Severe coolant leak!!!

I tired the search function on this forum, but for some reason tonight it was giving me an error when I went to the second page so I will see if I can get better luck with a new post.

Recently my 96 Blazer 2 door 4WD has started a coolant leak. It has gone from a little leak to a major leak. I can literally fill up the reservoir, and it will be more then half gone by the next day. It is just costing way too much for Dex Cool to end up on the pavement. I have heard that this issue could be a intake manifold problem? My main question is. Is this a common problem with these Blazers? I don't have too much time to start tearing things apart since I have a lot of work. I was just wondering where is the most possible place this leak could be coming from? The oil is not milky or anything. I know this is a broad problem. But I figured there might be more users on here that have had this problem. Thanks.

If it is leaking that fast, it should be easy to find the actual leak...

The only way to find a leak quickly is to pressure test the system. That also Kyle.

have you looked at your hoses? have you noticed it running rough? have you checked the transmission fluid?

Red face Most Likely an Intake Manifold Gasket Leak?

My problem was oil in the water, not water in the oil and of course overheating/loss of water/coolant. So I figured it had to be a blown head gasket or a cracked block or head. But one guy at Firestone told me it was likely a leaky intake manifold gasket because these (2000 S-10 w/ 4.3l) were notorius for that problem. So I figured I would have to start tearing it down regardless of the problem and sure enough when I got to the intake manifold, the bolts were hardly tight and there was bookoo evidence that the gasket failed, it was horrible! LOL I figured the oil was getting through in the lifter valley. What to look for, you can look right behind the A/C Compressor at the manifold/block seam to see if there is any evidence of a coolant leak, you could pressure test the system, and to rule out the head gasket, you can do a compression check on the cylinders. When I look back on it, the $800 bucks the guy quoted me on the intake gasket probably wasn't such a bad deal, there is so much crap under the hood these days, I am sure I am gonna have extra parts and will likely miss some electrical/vacuum connector when I put this thing back together! <yikes>

My problem was water in my oil. After I did a pressure check mine started to leak faster. I replaced the gasket and the issue went away. Just remeber that you need to mark you distributor where the button is so it will be easier to reinstall it. There is a lot of work involved, so do it on a day when you have time.
