97 Blazer electrical problems

I've got a 97 Blazer with some electrical problems. The brake lights work only once, right after you start the engine. After that, they're dead. Turn signals are dead. Oil pressure gauge reads 60 whether the engine is on or off. Temp reads 120 at all times, on or off. Fuel gauge works, I think, but is always "on" even when I shut the engine down. I have headlights and tail lights, and dash lights, but that's it. I replaced the ignition switch module based on advice from another forum. That hasn't made a difference. But there is a small black clip on the new harness that came with the module. It's the female end of a three-prong clip and I can't find the mate for it. Someone put an after market CD player in the thing and did a real butcher job. There's four clips hanging out of the space where the stock radio used to be and I can't find the mates for any of them. Some probably went to the original radio but I don't think all did.

All my fuses are intact but where the turn signals should have a 15 amp fuse, there is a 25 amp fuse in there. There is a fuse for "brake" and a fuse for "stop." Can anyone tell me which one operates the brake lights? The fuse for "brake" should be a ten amp fuse but there's a twenty in there. All my bulbs are intact.

Thanks in advance for any help.

RE: 97 Blazer electrical problems

first thing i would do is put all the right fuses in there spots and see if any of them blow. i had a prob in one of my cars where i put a 2 way bulb in a socket ment for a one way buld(2 way-blinker and running light one way blinker only) and the car would runn after i turned the key off and would stay running till i turned the headlights off!so maby look at that to see what happenes
