'97 Poor initial acceleration
 

Hi

Every morning I make a U-turn off my street. I go forward 2 sec then reverse. When in reverse, I seem to have to give more gas than usual to actually move. Its almost that I need to hit a certain rpm to start moving. Sometimes its more gas than other times. This only happens after the car is in park for a period of time.

Today i was in the supermarket parking lot. The drive to the parking lot exit was fine (10 sec, @10 mph). I make a right turn onto the main road and my car wouldn't accelerate above approx 25mph for about 8 sec. After that, it was fine all the way home.

It seems to happen within the first acceleration after being in park.


Any suggestions?
