98 bravada Obd code 405
HI , i have an 98 bravada , Ok here's the problem , Swapped engines , the old one had at least 260,000 on it , the guy that put the new engine in it said that the new engine he installed only had like 125,000, So my problem is it started cutting out and when it got warm it would stop , I hooked up obd code reader and it gave me code 405 which means bad egr , Problem is the engine that he put in it doesn't have an egr valve or at least its not on front of the engine where it was on the old engine , I think in 2002 they quit putting them on these engines < (prove me wrong if you can) , But why would the code reader read 405 and there's no egr valve on it , so prove me wrong or tell me why its reading obd code 405 and there's no egr valve on it ! Thanks ,
Yes it will start right back up on a dime , And the donor engine runs great in the bravada ,But never heard it run since it was in a wrecked truck
, never had a problem with it starting up after cutting it off !

That’s a tough problem. Engine dies with no warning and then starts right back up. There is no opportunity to check fuel pressure or ignition. For now I would assume that there is a marginal wire or connector on the engine somewhere most likely related to the ECM, fuel or ignition components. Start inspecting all the wires and connectors, moving everything while the engine is running to see If the engine dies.
