when it started warming up this year I did a full service on my a/c system and everything now works as far as compressor and system weight and charge levels. its still blowing hot I do not think the heater valve is closing and haven't been able to find it. anyone have any suggestions?

There is no heater valve...hot water constantly flows through the heater core. What comes out of the vents is determined by the "Blend Door" which is located under the glove box. A common problem is that a gear strips and gets stuck. There are many posts here on the problem and how to fix it.

When the A/C is on, if the accumulator is cold, and the lower line at the evaporator is warm/hot, chances are there's a problem with the temperature blend door actuator.

IF that's the problem, (temperature blend door actuator) the glove box needs to be removed to gain access to the actuator, (item #3 in the image below). It's a tight fit getting your hand and tools in there, but it CAN be done without removing the instrument panel.

The actuator is available at most auto parts stores. You'll need to tell them if you have manual HVAC, or Automatic Climate Control, (2 different part numbers).
